It's About Time: Increases in Weekly Benefit Rates and Death Benefits Will Take Place This Summer
Benefit rates for Georgia's injured workers are about to change this summer. While this is certainly good news, our state benefit rates remains woefully behind the majority of the rest of the country.
Effective July 1, 2016, the maximum Temporary Total Disability (TTD) rate for Georgia's injured workers will increase from $550.00 to $575.00 per week for all accidents occurring on or after July 1, 2016. The maximum Temporary Partial Disability (TPD) rate will increase from $350.00 per week to $383.00 per week for all accidents occurring on or after July 1, 2016.
Also effective July 1, 2016, the maximum compensation payable to a surviving spouse as a sole dependent at the time of an employee’s work-related death will increase from $220,000.00 to $230,000.00 for deaths occurring on or after July 1, 2016.
